To the Massanutten Community:
A few brief updates for you:
MPOA Elections: First, our congratulations to Basil Hangemanole and Jeff Bolander on winning their seats on MPOA’s board, and to Betty Newall and Liz Walker for retaining theirs (congrats to Liz, also, for her re-election as Board President). We think MPOA’s board has a superb mix of skills and points of view, and we look forward to working with them. Special shout-out to Kevin Frazier, who did a superb job keeping the community advised as to the election, and is now MPOA’s vice president.
Summer Operations: The federal government – and states nationwide – are relaxing pandemic protocols as vaccinations increase and case numbers drop. As in the early stages of the pandemic, predictions are difficult; everything remains a moving target, and we’re still evaluating how things will move forward. Suffice to say, though there may be some restrictions on capacity limits (at least early on), we’ll operate in strict accordance with Virginia public health orders and guidance. We’ll keep you posted regarding relevant developments.
Our NEW Community Page: If this page looks a little different, that’s because it is! Recognizing the importance of keeping the Community up to speed with various things around the resort, we’ve put this section onto a new platform that we hope you’ll find useful.
The first thing worth noting is that you can now subscribe, and we encourage you to do so. Subscribing means that you’ll receive an email notification every time we add content here. You may, of course, unsubscribe at any time. (Depending on your browser settings, you can find the SUBSCRIBE function either at right of the entries on the main page, or at the bottom of the page. You can also sign up for road reports from Massanutten Security).
Next: the most recent entries will appear at the top of the page, regardless of “tag” (the tag is essentially the way a given topic is categorized). You’ll also see those tags at the top of the page; if you wish to review past entries made under specific tags (for example, “GM Corner” or “Caring for Our Community”), you can click that tag and see all posts so categorized, newest to oldest.
The new format also allows you to comment on a post if you so choose. We’ll be notified of comments once they’re submitted. Comments won’t be published immediately; we may respond to you via email, and while we don’t guarantee publication, we may also publish your comment or publish it with a response (if you’d rather not see it published at all, let us know). You may rest assured that regardless of public or private response, we WILL read your comment. And if you prefer, you can still contact us at community@massresort.com.
We fully recognize that some of the past issues between the community and the Resort and its Developer were at least partially due to our not keeping the community updated. We’ve worked hard to address that over the past 18 months or so. We hope you’ve noticed – and this new page is the means to ensure that we continue to do so going forward. Please subscribe so that you’ll always have the latest from our team.
Cordially,
Matthias Smith, VP/General Manager, Massanutten Resort
