Update 5/21/20

On behalf of the Massanutten Resort, I’d like to congratulate MPOA’s new Board Members and Officers. We continue to be grateful for past-President Eric Millard’s service, and look forward to a continued productive relationship with Liz Walker (MPOA’s new President), the Executive Committee, and the Board at large.

Given the busy weekend of meetings, I imagine it will take few days to build direct contact with the Board’s negotiation task force, we certainly are ready and willing as schedules allow.

As the negotiation process continues, I do want to mention a special program for which we could use your help. It doesn’t benefit Massanutten Resort – it benefits the larger community. In part with the suggestion of MPOA Board VP Mike Stockwell, we created a food delivery program that provides complimentary meals to folks in Massanutten, McGheysville, Elkton and beyond who are struggling due to Covid-19. You’ll find more information on that program on this site by clicking here [insert link to that article].

We’d like to at least double the number of deliveries until things calm down – and to do that, we need more volunteer drivers. Having done numerous deliveries myself, I can tell you that it’s a hugely satisfying thing to do – the gratitude expressed by those receiving meals warms my heart for days!

Will you help us by becoming a volunteer driver? To volunteer, please email us at community@massresort.com.

I’ll continue going forward with additional thoughts. You’ll also find other things we’re doing elsewhere on the Community page – regarding issues in the community and ways we think they can be addressed, some behind the scenes look at resort operations, and more. Until next time – I hope everyone stays safe and gets a chance to get outdoors this Memorial Day weekend.

Cordially,

Matthias Smith, VP/General Manager
Massanutten Resort
