To the Greater Massanutten Area Community:
It’s been a busy week as we continue preparations to slowly reopen the resort. We appreciate your interest in our approach and visiting our website to gather more information. As for reopening (or any other) questions surface, please do feel free to reach out anytime at community@massresort.com.
We’d also like to thank community members who have signed up as drivers for the food delivery program. We could still use a few more if you’re willing. Although there are issues of business that need to be worked on, nothing beats a joint effort for the greater good.
I’ve been asked by several residents for an update on negotiations between Massanutten Resort and MPOA, and for clarification regarding the source of the disagreement. The quick answer is “fair share” – determining reasonable cost-sharing between the Resort and the Association – and “fair costs” – which boils down to accountability on how funds that we’ve previously paid voluntarily via HOA fees (and have always been willing to pay MPOA, using a modified structure going forward) are budgeted and tracked.
Obviously, there’s complexity on both fronts. I’ll do my best to communicate key components of our discussions with MPOA over the next few days. Starting with an overview tomorrow, I will follow with a key points outline sharing the specifics and a few documents that might be helpful.
